A young student who walks out of Year 12 knowing exactly who they are and where they are going instead of one who just survives it
"I really looked forward to every session. You were so genuine in the way you spoke to me; it felt like you really cared about me and wanted what was best for me. At the end of every session, I always asked when I'd see you next"
- Izac (Mentee)

"You pay so much attention to detail and it's wonderful to learn how you're able to be there for him to coax him out of his shell and make him think more deeply about what he wants."
- Megan (Parent)

"Thank you for being so real with me. It was the first time it felt like someone actually wanted to know and help me for me. I'm really grateful to have you as a mentor and just being there for me"
- Aalisha (Mentee)

1:1 mentoring is a personalised, weekly session where your child has a safe space to talk, think, and grow. We focus on building confidence, improving communication, strengthening relationships, and creating clarity around their future. They'll be given tasks to do between sessions to implement what we've discussed during our session.
Each session is conversational, not clinical. Sessions feel safe and as though they're talking with a mate who gets it. Someone they can relate to. We’ll either work on a specific goal (e.g. confidence, friendships, motivation) or something currently happening in their life. Your child will leave each session with simple, practical steps they can apply straight away.
Every young person is different, but common outcomes include:
- Increased confidence and self-belief
- Better communication at home and socially
- More clarity around direction and goals
- Improved motivation and follow-through
- Stronger sense of identity and responsibility
Mentoring is future-focused and action-based.
While therapy often focuses on healing the past, mentoring focuses on helping your child move forward; building confidence, skills, and direction in real time. If I ever feel your child needs additional support, I’ll always guide you appropriately.
Quite often, parents and mentees have told me that some tasks and comments I make are ones that they've heard from therapists. So why mentoring? Because those people didn't like the clinical setting, and needed something a little more casual or reciprocal. I connect with everyone - both the parents and their children because they're not just clients or patients, I treat them like family
If your child is capable but struggling with confidence, motivation, or direction - mentoring can be a great fit.
The best way to know is through a short call where we can understand your situation.
